Collects objective patient data and provides comfort measures under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Performs unit secretary duties and instructs parents on the safe use of car seats.
Requires current Oregon CNA 2 certification, BLS certification, and completion of a Car Seat Technician course. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
CNA/OB Car Seat Tech Unit Support I Collects objective patient data, provides patient care and comfort measures within scope of practice and as assigned by a licensed nurse. Reports observations of patient and outcome of data-gathering and care activities to licensed nurse. Documents appropriately in medical record. Performs unit secretary functions that contribute to the smooth running of the unit. Assists parents to learn safe use of appropriate car seats. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in the English language Able to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position Deals effectively interdepartmentally & with the public Maintains confidentiality Demonstrates ability to organize work effectively Provides care that is appropriate to and respectful of patient’s age, culture, and spiritual needs Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 in the State of Oregon American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Has completed Car Seat Technician course, repeats class/renews certification at least every two (2) years High school diploma or equivalent preferred EXPERIENCE Experience within the past two years preferred.
