The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the day-to-day management of the NICU, including delivery attendance and ventilator management. They provide collaborative, team-based care for newborns and coordinate with families and multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidates must hold a New Mexico nurse practitioner license and a neonatal nurse practitioner certification (NNP). At least one year of advanced practice experience is required, with hospitalist experience preferred.

Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
This organization is a physician-owned medical practice specializing in the care of expectant mothers and newborns. They were founded in 2016 by a small group of neonatologists serving a single hospital’s NICU. Since then, they have grown to operate in multiple states with more than 100 board certified neonatologists, OB hospitalists, and pediatric specialists on their team. They combine a national infrastructure with local support, using their breadth and depth of clinical and operational resources to allow physicians to focus their time on delivering care.
This position is employed by a private group, with the role based in a medical center in Las Cruces.
The hospital is a Level 3 Trauma Center, equipped with the latest technology and resources. They have a Level 3 NICU with 15 licensed beds and an average of 90 to 110 deliveries per month.
The schedule is coordinated collaboratively among all the providers, with the option to bundle shifts.
The hospital uses an EHR and clinical assistants are available to assist providers in all situations.
