Provide direct and indirect holistic care to surgical and medical patients, specifically those recovering from vascular, plastic, and general surgeries. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, managing cardiac drips via telemetry, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Requires an Associate's degree and a valid Registered Nurse license with BLS/CPR certification. Candidates must complete the Vizient Professional Nurse Residency program and obtain a BSN within five years of hire.
The 15AB unit at TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital specializes in providing comprehensive care for patients undergoing vascular, plastic, and general surgical procedures. Our experienced team cares for patients recovering from a wide range of surgeries, including abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral-popliteal bypass, abdominal surgeries, and fasciotomies. Additionally, we support patients undergoing reconstructive procedures such as TRAM flap surgeries, mastectomies with reconstruction, and mammoplasty reductions.
In addition to our surgical focus, the 15AB unit also provides care for various medical patients requiring close monitoring. We are equipped with telemetry monitoring to track cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac drips, ensuring our patients receive the highest level of care during their stay.
Our unit is designed to offer a supportive environment for both patients and staff, with a focus on collaboration and ongoing education. Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family. Completes initial assessment tool. Documents ongoing assessment per unit/TriHealth guidelines. Communicates assessment findings to other health care providers as appropriate. Includes health counseling and health teaching needs in assessment.
Identifies areas for self-improvement, functions in relief charge / resource role as requested, completes assignments within scheduled timeframes, cooperates with instructor to facilitate effective learning experiences for students, maintains current knowledge in area of practice, demonstrates knowledge of organizational and department changes.
