About the role

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to identify sleep-related breathing disorders in adult and geriatric patients. Assess patient physical conditions and monitor responses to diagnostic services and therapies.

Greater Regional Health is searching for a casual Registered Sleep Technologist for our sleep lab.

The Sleep Tech provides diagnostic care for adults and geriatric patients with sleep disorders.

The technician’s role is to assess the patient with a suspected sleep disorder and evaluate their overall physical condition.

The tech will assess the patient’s response to diagnostic services, tests, and therapies.

The key role is to perform the test and identify the sleep-related breathing disorders.

Sleep lab technicians perform procedures that are both diagnostic and therapeutic.

The ideal candidate should be dedicated to the best practice and care of patients.

A strong work ethic, reliability, and team work is a must.

Schedule would vary between the hours of 6 PM and 6 AM.

Skills

  • Able to perform all duties in polysomnography.
  • Performs patient assessment and intervention in accordance with level or training.
  • Competent to provide care to patients in the following categories: adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
  • Performs post discharge phone calls
  • Accurately scores polysomnography and CPAP titration
  • Monitors patient during study
  • Skilled with overnight oximeter hookup
  • Skilled with EKG’s
  • Accurate in record keeping
  • Clinical experience would be helpful
  • Familiarity with polysomnography, EKG's, and CPAP titration helpful but not necessary
  • Maintain patient confidentiality

Skills, Education and Certifications

• RCP, CRT, RRT, or RPSGT preferred with current Iowa License

Requirements

Candidates should be proficient in polysomnography, EKG, and CPAP titration. Preferred certifications include RCP, CRT, RRT, or RPSGT with a current Iowa License.
