The Cardiopulmonary Assistant performs inpatient and outpatient diagnostic tests such as EKGs and COVID collections. They also provide support to Registered Respiratory Therapists in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and handle administrative tasks.
Candidates must be high school graduates with completion of a formal Medical Assistant program and previous experience working with the general public. BLS certification is required within three months of hire.
Status: Relief on Call
Day Shift. Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.
Under the general supervision of the Medical Director of Cardiopulmonary and the Director of Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Imaging and under the direct supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Department Manager and Registered Respiratory Therapist, the Cardiopulmonary Assistant performs outpatient and inpatient testing as appropriate based on competency and skill level, such as EKG's, FIT testing, COVID collections, etc. The CPA assists the RRT in cardiac and pulmonary rehab, performs administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.
