Requires a Bachelor's degree with specific science credits and HTL (ASCP) certification or eligibility. Candidates must have knowledge of Joint Commission, CAP, and FDA regulatory standards.

This position requires an individual to perform routine histological functions including specimen handling, accessioning, processing, embedding, cutting, H&E staining and labeling of slides, blocks and specimen containers, low and high complexity histochemical staining, immunohistochemical staining, kidney biopsy procedures, muscle biopsy procedures, nerve biopsy procedures, immunofluorescent staining and teaching and training of residents, medical students, histotechnologists, histotechnicians, and staff. This position may also require an individual to document daily routine maintenance, file slides/blocks accurately, change chemicals routinely, accession specimens, and perform low complexity special stains
