Technician who excels in this role: Provides continuous cardiac and telemetry monitoring under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Monitors cardiac rhythms and promptly recognizes, documents, and reports abnormal heart rhythms or changes in patient condition to the nursing team. Performs and documents vital signs, intake and output, and other patient care activities as assigned. Assists patients with activities of daily living including ambulation, toileting, grooming, and basic comfort measures when needed. Maintains accurate telemetry records and ensures monitoring equipment is functioning properly at all times. Communicates effectively with nurses, physicians, and ancillary departments regarding rhythm changes, alarms, and patient status updates. Supports unit operations by managing monitor station responsibilities, answering phones, processing orders, and assisting with overall department workflow. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment in accordance with hospital policies and infection prevention standards. Documents patient care activities and monitor observations in compliance with hospital and departmental standards. Participates in required education, competency validations, annual training, and performance improvement initiatives. Performs additional duties as assigned to support patient care and departmental operations.
