Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during the assigned night shift, using the nursing process to guide care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care aligned with the medical plan of care, incorporating input from patients and significant others.
• Collaborate with physicians and the broader health care team; coordinate patient care across age groups based on the assigned unit’s needs.
• Deliver patient education and discharge planning as part of the overall plan of care.
• Delegate appropriate aspects of care to other nursing staff (including CNA involvement) according to competence and scope of practice; supervise and communicate effectively with the team.

Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse license
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in an acute care setting
• Comfort providing care to patients across applicable ages per unit assignment and working with CNA staff as part of the team
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with the health care team
