Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care for Med/Surg and Tele patients, including neurosurgical and general surgical cases
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient responses
• Conduct NIHSS assessments as required and monitor neurological status; escalate changes to the medical team promptly
• Manage IV therapy, pain control, wound care, and routine post-operative care following unit protocols
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education
• Document accurately in the Epic EMR and ensure timely, complete charting; participate in handoffs and shift communication
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and compliance with unit policies; be prepared for unit needs and scheduling adjustments

Requirements

• Current RN license on file at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications; NIHSS required prior to start
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
• Minimum 2 years of RN unit-based experience; prior travel experience and large teaching facility experience preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; Monday through Sunday coverage expected, with no block schedules
• Reliable transportation is required due to location; public transportation is not available in this area
