Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated shift, using the nursing process to plan and deliver care aligned with the medical plan of care and input from patients and families.
• Collaborate with physicians and the health care team to coordinate the delivery of nursing care for patients of any age on the assigned unit, with unit-specific age coverage (neonatal to geriatric as applicable).
• Incorporate teaching and discharge planning needs into the overall plan of care, promoting patient and family education for safe transitions home.
• Delegate appropriate aspects of patient care to other nursing staff based on current clinical competence and legal scope of practice; supervise and support care delivery as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and patient responses, monitor outcomes, and ensure safety, quality, and continuity of care.
• Work within a CNA-supported environment, coordinating to meet patient needs across the shift.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Oncology nursing experience or strong medical-surgical nursing background preferred.
• Ability to perform 12-hour day shifts and work 36 hours per week.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced hospital environment and adapting to unit-specific patient needs.
