Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative nursing care, assessment, and preparation for surgical patients
• Verify patient identity, consent, allergies, and surgical site; ensure correct patient workflow
• Prepare patients for the OR, including positioning, monitoring devices, and safety checks
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with perioperative procedures as assigned
• Monitor patient status preoperatively, document vitals and interventions, and communicate changes to the team
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR staff to ensure smooth patient flow and safety

Requirements

• Active RN license in California
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• OPS (operating room/pre-op) experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work in a surgical pre-op setting and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
• Education: Registered Nurse, with current licensure and credentials
