Perform comprehensive diagnostic cardiac imaging using 2D, 3D, and color technology to evaluate heart structure and function. Responsibilities include preparing preliminary reports, collaborating with physicians, and participating in a home-call rotation.
Requires a degree in Ultrasound Technology or Health Science and a valid BLS certification. Candidates must hold ARDMS/RDCS (AE) or CCI (RCS) credentials and obtain New Mexico State Licensure (NMRTT).
Prepare preliminary echo reports including relevant measurements.
Participate in weeknight and weekend call. Sonographers take "Home Call" with call pay. On average, sonographers are called in overnight approximately once a month. Weekend call is typically 2-6 echoes on Saturdays and Sundays and triaged by the on call pediatric cardiologist.
Level I Cardiac Sonographer Graduate of a two (2) year Allied Health Training Program in Ultrasound Technology or a graduate of bachelor's program in health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing). 0-4 years' experience inpatient/outpatient cardiac ultrasound. ARDMS/RDCS (AE) OR CCI (RCS) credential BLS required at the time of hire New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT) - New graduates must obtain within 90 days Level II Cardiac Sonographer Graduate of a two (2) year Allied Health Training Program in Ultrasound Technology or a graduate of bachelor's program in health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing). 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. 4-8 years' experience inpatient/outpatient cardiac ultrasound. ARDMS/RDCS (AE) OR CCI (RCS) credential BLS required at the time of hire New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT) Level III Cardiac Sonographer Graduate of a two (2) year Allied Health Training Program in Ultrasound Technology or a graduate of bachelor's program in health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing). 8 or more years or more experience inpatient/outpatient cardiac ultrasound. Degree required or in lieu of degree 10 years of relevant experience. ARDMS/RDCS (AE) OR CCI (RCS) credential BLS required at the time of hire New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT) *Or have promoted up with years of experience and assigned a Lead OR resource sonographer.
