Provide safe and reliable patient care under the supervision of an RN, including monitoring and reporting patient reactions to care plans. Supervise unlicensed assistive personnel and maintain a safe, clean environment compliant with safety and infection goals.
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current LPN or RN license in Iowa. Required certifications include BLS, NIHSS education, and stroke education.
Provides direction and supervision of unlicensed assistive personnel (i.e. Patient Care Technician), demonstrates clinical judgment appropriate for Iowa’s LPN scope of practice, uses problem solving techniques and time-management principles, and delegates appropriately. Assists in creating a positive work environment by working with team members to develop and facilitate initiatives to strive for positive outcomes in quality and care of patients. Effectively communicates with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff and all customers. Complies with all policies and procedures, and guides team members with compliance. Maintains a safe and clean environm Compiles with all safety goals, infection prevention and risk management policies and procedures.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
