The technician is responsible for performing routine sonographic exams in inpatient or outpatient settings, adhering to established protocols for positioning, image quality, and ALARA principles. This role involves utilizing specialized equipment to produce sonographic images and entering patient data into hospital databases.
Candidates must possess education equivalent to two to three years beyond high school or an Associate's degree in Ultrasound technology or a related field. Required credentials include ARDMS registration or a CCI certificate within 12 months of hire, along with the ability to resolve technical problems and explain procedures to patients and families.
Responsible for performing routine sonographic exams in either an inpatient and/or outpatient setting in accordance with established protocols for positioning, image quality, and ALARA principles. Utilizes a variety of specialized equipment to produce sonographic images, as well as computers and various software programs to enter patient related information into hospital databases. Contributes to the overall excellence of the department through commitment to personal excellence in technical and interpersonal skills.
