The Medical Assistant is responsible for greeting and rooming patients, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for exams. They also assist providers with surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and the administration of injections while maintaining a sterile environment.
Candidates must be high school graduates with current WA State and national Medical Assistant certifications and BLS certification. Proficiency in medical terminology and EMR usage is required, with one year of experience preferred.
1. Greets and rooms patients per standard. 2. Takes patients history and vital signs. 3. Prepares patients for exam. 4. Assists provider with exam/surgical procedures and diagnostic testing. 5. Maintains appropriate sterile environment for the clinical procedure or situation, adhering to the Washington State standard for transmission precautions. 6. Administers injections (intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular) per provider orders.
