The Clinic Lab Tech assists in all laboratory aspects per physician orders to aid in patient diagnosis. Primary duties include greeting patients, performing venipuncture, and processing specimens efficiently.
A High School Diploma or GED and prior experience in phlebotomy or a related field are required. Certification as a Lab Assistant or Medical Technologist is preferred.
The Clinic Lab Tech is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the lab per physician orders to aid in the proper diagnosis of the patient. Duties include:
1. Greets and identifies patients using two-patient identifiers.
2. Performs venipuncture and collects specimens with very few errors using a variety of laboratory collection tools and methods.
3. Properly identifies and labels all specimens in accordance with established laboratory guidelines.
4. Processes all specimens in an efficient and timely manner.
High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience in phlebotomy or a related field required. Certified Lab Assistant, Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technologist preferred, but not required.
