About the Role

As a Medical Technologist at UAB Medical West, you will play a crucial role in the accurate and timely diagnosis of patients.
Your main responsibility will be to perform complex laboratory tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids.
By analyzing and interpreting the results, you will help healthcare professionals make informed decisions regarding patient care.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Your work will directly impact patient outcomes and contribute to the overall quality of healthcare provided at UAB Medical West.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or a related field.
1 year of experience as a Registered Medical Technologist.
Registered as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

Registered as a Medical Technologist by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
Specialization in a specific area of laboratory testing, such as microbiology or hematology.
Experience with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records.
