401(k) Competitive salary Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Job Overview: AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a Physician Assistant – Family Medicine to provide primary care services at the 633rd Medical Group, Langley Air Force Base, VA. The provider will evaluate and treat patients, manage acute and chronic conditions, prescribe treatments, provide preventive care, and collaborate with healthcare teams in a military outpatient clinic setting.
The Physician Assistant will support military readiness, maintain accurate medical documentation, and comply with DHA, MTF, and Joint Commission standards while participating in required training and quality improvement activities.
Specific Duties Provide patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care Manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and minor injuries Conduct physicals, wellness visits, immunizations, and preventive care Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice Perform authorized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and specialists Maintain accurate electronic medical documentation Educate patients and families on treatment and health management Support military readiness and occupational health requirements Participate in mandatory training, continuing education, and quality improvement activities
Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
Certification Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtained within three months of start date Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or obtained within three months of start date Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification required or obtained within six months of start date Experience Experience sufficient to meet DHA clinical competency and credentialing requirements. Prior experience in family medicine, urgent care, primary care, military medicine, or outpatient clinical settings is highly preferred.
Licensure Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in any U.S. state, territory, or District of Columbia.
Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of family medicine and primary care practices Ability to independently evaluate and manage patients Knowledge of preventive medicine and chronic disease management Proficiency with electronic medical records systems Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Schedule Monday through Friday. Typical duty hours include: 0730 – 1630 0800 – 1700 0815 – 1715 Schedule will be coordinated with clinic leadership during onboarding. Employees receive a one-hour lunch break.
