The psychiatric technician performs direct nursing tasks and monitors physical and behavioral symptoms of patients. They assist in implementing therapeutic activities and treatment programs within a behavioral health inpatient setting.
Candidates must have a CNA or EMT license, or one year of direct psychiatric patient care experience, or be a qualifying nursing student. A high school diploma and a Level 2 AHCA background clearance are required.
The psychiatric technician is an active participant of the patient care team who performs direct nursing tasks, observes and reports physical and behavioral symptoms. Assists in implementing the therapeutic activities and in planning and implementing treatment programs for patients.
• Prefer Psychiatric Technician training.
HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
