The Medical Assistant is responsible for preparing exam rooms, obtaining patient vitals, and assisting physicians with clinical procedures and injections. They also manage clinic flow, maintain supplies, and ensure a safe environment for pediatric patients.
Requires a high school diploma or GED, with a medical assistant program certification or 6 months of patient care experience preferred. BLS certification is required, and CMA certification is preferred.
Ability to work with a diverse patient population to promote a culturally competent environment. Physical ability to lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds, as well as push and pull when performing cleaning functions. Frequently bends, lifts, twists, reached, and squats. Occasionally push/pulls and does overhead work. Licenses and Certifications: CMA-Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants preferred BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required Patient Care Responsibility Provides care appropriate to patient population and as described in applicable policies and procedures.
