Provide behavioral health consultation, assessment, and diagnosis for children, adolescents, adults, and families. Participate in fellowship training activities and collaborate with primary care teams to improve patient psychosocial functioning.
Candidates must be eligible for a postdoctoral fellowship and capable of performing comprehensive psychological assessments. The role requires engagement in structured training to achieve APA Profession-Wide Competencies.
Provide behavioral health consultation to children, adolescents, adults and families in order to improve psychosocial functioning under the supervision of a licensed psychologist while participating in required fellowship training activities (e.g., supervision, didactics, case consultation, and quality improvement).
1. Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health patients.
2. Provide effective treatment planning and assisting patients in successfully achieving goals
3. Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions
4. Actively participate in meetings that support HSO’s integrated healthcare model to provide
comprehensive care for patients.
5. Assist in the detection of “at risk” patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or
physical deterioration.
6. Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines,
disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management
of chronic disease.
7. Provide assessment consultation, and brief intervention for psychological/psychiatric problems and/or
disorders.
8. Teach patients, families, and staff care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques.
9. Monitor the site’s behavioral health program, identifying problems related to patient services and making
recommendations for improvement.
10. Enhances HSO’s reputation by fostering ownership and personal responsibility for exceeding patient
service expectations.
11. Professional Development: Engage in structured training and supervision to achieve mastery in APA
Profession-Wide Competencies, including evidence-based intervention, assessment, ethical practice, and
interprofessional consultation within an integrated care setting; and attend CFHA annual conference.
