Job description

  • Yorktown, Virginia Overview Performs duties under the direction or supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or a registered nurse.
  • Responsible for conducting a focused assessment of the patient to include vital signs and gathering data, implementing established plans of care, and evaluating effectiveness of treatments in the medical practice setting.
  • May float to other practices within the region providing operational support as needed.
  • What you will do Accurately completes all required clinical documentation consistently per Riverside Medical Group standards.
  • Maintains documentation for quality assurance to include but not limited to point of care testing, medication logs and annual wellness visits.
  • Works with providers to assure care gaps are routinely addressed with each patient.
  • Documentation is accurate, legible and completed same day.
  • Knowledgeable and skillful in lab functions and lab proficiency testing.
  • Maintains excellent clinical competency by adhering to the standard clinical expectations for Riverside Medical Group.
  • This includes updating, verifying, and maintaining patient records by properly interviewing the patient and confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepares patient for examination by obtaining vital signs proficiently (including manual vital signs when mechanical devices are not available).
  • Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and after patient appointments.
  • Administer medications and vaccines under the supervision of a physician.
  • Assists with processing prescription refill requests for approval and forwarding to pharmacies.
  • Maintains medical inventory of supplies and keep exam rooms stocked appropriately.
  • Keeps any necessary equipment in operating order and facilitating preventive maintenance when needed.
  • Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations with scope of practice, HIPAA, and OSHA standards.
  • Completes all required competencies and education to maintain skill level to provide safe patient care.
  • Provides patient education as needed and educates patients as necessary about the medications prescribed for them.
  • Demonstrates positive patient care by explaining the importance of the completion of registration and patient medical history forms and how it relates to their care at our facility.
