Specimen Processor Cytology

• A Brief Overview Assists the anatomic pathology lab by performing pre-analytic, post-analytic, and support functions.
• What You Will Do Accessions specimens for cytology and/or surgical pathology.
• Performs specimen processing for further workup in the anatomic pathology laboratory.
• Triages specimens within the department.
• Maintains equipment, re-stocks supplies and reagents.
• Recognition and preliminary resolution of problem cases.
• Performs miscellaneous maintenance tasks within the department.
• Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
• Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
