Behavioral Health Technician

About the Role

• The Behavioral Health Technician at Harbor Village Inc, plays a critical role in supporting individuals with serious emotional disturbances (SED) by providing compassionate and effective care within a clinical setting.
• This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of individualized treatment plans, conducting clinical assessments, and managing crisis situations to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• The technician will maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation to support continuity of care and facilitate communication among the multidisciplinary team.
• Additionally, the role involves collaborating closely with mental health professionals to develop and execute discharge plans that promote successful patient transitions.
• Ultimately, the Behavioral Health Technician contributes to improving patient outcomes by delivering high-quality care and crisis intervention services in a supportive environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
• Certification or training in behavioral health or mental health support.
• Experience in clinical documentation and patient care within a behavioral health setting.
• Knowledge of crisis management and crisis intervention techniques.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related behavioral health field.
• Previous experience working with children or adults with serious emotional disturbances (SED).
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills demonstrated in a clinical environment.
