Maintain the sterile field and ensure all team members adhere to aseptic techniques during surgical procedures. Assist surgeons by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and managing the preparation and cleanup of the procedure room.
Requires a high school diploma, completion of a Surgical Technologist Program, and CST certification within six months of hire. Experience as a CST in an acute care hospital or GI Tech experience is preferred.

Here, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining the sterile field, while being constantly vigilant that all team members adhere to aseptic technique and sterile. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Under the supervision of the Supervisor and Director, Surgical Services, and direction of the registered nurse, participates in the intraoperative care of a patient in Surgery. Knows, follows, and actively supports the philosophy, mission, and Vision of Ingalls Hospital. Observes and adheres to all corporate compliance requirements and communicates issues as they arise to the appropriate parties as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan.

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
