About the role

Provide direct support to surgical patients by monitoring vital signs and assisting with perioperative workflows. Maintain a clean surgical environment and provide clerical support to ensure efficient center operations.

Join AAESC as a Nursing Assistant working 20 hours per week where you will provide direct support to surgical patients throughout their visit to the Surgery Center. In this role, you’ll work closely with nurses, surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment. You will play an integral role in patient monitoring, documentation, equipment readiness, and supporting smooth perioperative workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor patients, collect vital signs, and document clinical information accurately
  • Assist patients before and after procedures, including simple instruction and discharge support
  • Transport patients safely and support timely documentation and chart preparation
  • Maintain a clean, organized surgical environment, including equipment cleaning and supply stocking
  • Operate patient monitoring systems and help maintain designated equipment and supply systems
  • Provide clerical support such as answering phones, taking messages, filing, and assembling patient charts

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent with short-term training in basic patient care
  • One to three years of experience preferred
  • On-the-job training and competency verification required
  • Formal nurse’s aide or medical technician training preferred
  • CNA certification required (if applicable per center standards)
