  • Description: The Behavioral Health Technician cares for clients at our River Crossing Withdrawal Management facility. The goal of this position is to help clients manage detoxification, teach basic living skills, and partner with the therapeutic team to ensure clients’ treatment care plans are followed. Our BHTs will learn proper documentation techniques and other state/federal standards followed by the Alabama Department of Mental Health, earn certifications in their trainings and create a path forward with a career in Mental Health. This is a part-time, hourly position that will work
  • Saturdays and
  • Sundays, 7:00PM - 7:00AM.
  • What you’ll be doing: Provide consistent instruction, guidance, encouragement, and reinforcement to the clients that are admitted to our River Crossing Withdrawal Management facility. Work closely with the Treatment Team by assisting with the coordination of client activities to include regularly implementing basic living skills training objectives as scheduled and documenting clients’ progress in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record. Regularly complete 30-minute bed checks with documentation of staff notes, shift observations, and other reports in a timely and accurate manner. Report any client or staff incidents or injuries to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner. Ensure clients comply with rules, maintaining a clean and safe environment to include performance of housekeeping, assisting clients where necessary. Demonstrate good safety skills including fire drills, emergency procedures, and back safety techniques. Promote a positive work environment, including positive relationships with clients and their families, supervisors, and co-workers. Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings, and trainings as required, staying current on all trainings/certifications. Report to work on time as scheduled, remaining on shift until able to be relieved; correctly complete and submit timesheets and leave requests in a timely manner. Report any facility or maintenance issues in a timely fashion and assist in the maintenance/housekeeping of the facility and equipment. Perform verbal and at times physical de-escalation techniques as required, in addition to crisis interventions. May be required to lift clients at times, with the assistance of others. Complete other duties as assigned.   • QualificationsWhat we’re looking for: High School Diploma or equivalent Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiar with computers and Microsoft Suite Good organizational and documentation skills Exceptional customer service experience Certified in CPR and SAMA (or ability to obtain) We are compassionate towards those impacted by behavioral health disorders. Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be proficient in communication and computer skills. Certification in CPR and SAMA is required or must be obtainable.
