  • Salary: $22,287-$23,157 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a part-time Research Support Assistant position. To support a study of adolescent substance use risk, the Research Support Assistant will be responsible for supporting tasks essential to ongoing research studies. The candidate will learn the operations of a research study from beginning to end, including the development of culturally appropriate data collection measures, participant recruitment and retention, and data collection procedures to address study aims and hypotheses. In addition, the candidate will learn how to maintain accurate regulatory and study documentation and will assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, amendments, and related communications to ensure compliance with research regulations. Availability for weekend travel is preferred, evening and weekend work is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct interviews and assessments with parents and youth participants, including supporting and coordinating MRI procedures for youth participants. Support participant recruitment, scheduling, tracking, and retention activities in accordance with study protocols. Perform and assist with research and administrative tasks, including data entry, computerization of interviews, preparation for home visits, record keeping, and other office-related activities. Support the regulatory requirements of the study, including assisting with the maintenance and security of research records and corresponding with the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Perform other related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in psychology, public health, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and at least (1) year of relevant research experience required. At least (6) months of training in child's mental health assessments, structured interviewing, and field recruitment

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field. Experience with participant recruitment, data entry, and maintenance of research records in a regulated research environment. Familiarity with gathering MRI data. Requirements
