Position Summary

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you'll work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide skilled occupational therapy services in patients' homes. You'll play a vital role in helping individuals regain function, improve daily living skills, and achieve greater independence following illness, injury, or disability. What You'll Do Deliver occupational therapy treatments according to the established plan of care. Assist patients in improving activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, transfers, positioning, and use of assistive equipment. Monitor patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Accurately document visits and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, caregivers, and other interdisciplinary team members. Promote patient safety, independence, and quality of life while following all regulatory and clinical standards. Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree program for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the State of Maine. Minimum of one year of recent clinical experience preferred. Current Maine driver's license and reliable transportation. Proof of automobile insurance. CPR certification (or ability to maintain certification). Work Environment This position primarily serves patients in their homes throughout the community. The role requires regular travel between patient locations and occasional office work.
