The clinical dietitian is responsible for the nutritional care of both in-patients and out-patients, which includes assessing nutrition status, developing care plans, and providing follow-up and education. This role requires assuring continuous patient care through clear verbal communication with the healthcare team and accurate written documentation in the medical record.
A Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or food and nutrition with completion of a dietetic internship is required, along with current registration or eligibility for registration as a dietitian within three months of hire. Applicants must also be licensed to practice dietetics in the state of Ohio, with one year of hospital experience as a Registered Dietitian preferred.

The clinical dietitian is responsible for the nutritional care of in-patients and out-patients. Duties include assessment of nutrition status, development of care plans, follow up, education, and nutrition related order writing privileges. Clinical Dietitian will assure appropriate and continual care of patients through verbal communication with members of the health care team as well as written documentation in the medical record. Care provided is tailored to patient needs including learning needs, age-specific and addresses cultural/religious considerations.
