Optometrist (Seasonal)

Position Title

• Optometrist (Seasonal) REPORTS TO: Director of Medical Services CLASSIFICATION: Exempt CareSTL is seeking an Optometrist to join our team! The Optometrist provides preventive and therapeutic Optometry services for the patients of CareSTL Health. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Optometrist may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons.  Provides clinical care including but not limited to routine refraction, test for muscle balance, examination and initial evaluation for ocular injury, slit lamp examination, application of tonometry, and routine examination of the fundus; provides after-hours coverage for urgent health care problems for health center patients on an on-call basis  Participates in the health center’s Performance Improvement program and assists in the formulation and implementation of the health center’s health care plan especially in optometry protocols  Practices evidence-based medicine and Patient-Centered medicine.  Proficient in using electronic health records (here) for Clinical documentation; order and review labs and radiology and clear all the tasks promptly per organizational policies.  Maintain the required Optometry Licenses, Certifications, and Credentials that are required JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
• Must be a graduate of an accredited Optometry school
• Board Certified
• Licensed to practice Optometry in the State of Missouri Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Effective clinical and communication skills Transportation Requirement:  Must have Reliable Transportation

Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 11 paid holidays per year. Full benefits package. Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
