The Patient Care Tech provides direct patient care, assisting with daily needs like feeding, bathing, and dressing, while also measuring vitals and monitoring patient behavior and mood. Responsibilities include documenting findings, maintaining clean environments, and performing routine clinical tests under the direction of the nursing team.
A minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent, with no prior experience necessary, although one year in a hospital setting as a CNA is preferred. Candidates must obtain Basic Life Safety certification within 90 days of hire.
The Patient Care Tech provides direct care to patients, aiding them with basic daily life needs such as feeding, bathing, dressing, etc. The PCT measures daily vitals, monitors the patient behavior and mood, and reports this information through both charting and communication with other members of the patient care team. The Patient Care Tech is also responsible for maintaining clean, organized hallways, rooms, and equipment.
High School Diploma or equivalent; or proof of high school graduation eligibility within six months.
License/Certification Requirements • Minimum: Basic Life Safety within 90 days of hire into the position (American Heart Association)
