The Nurse Practitioner will function as a primary care provider in Urgent Care and Primary Care practices, performing medical diagnosis and prescribing therapeutics under physician supervision. Key coordinating responsibilities include defining the NP role, supervising the clinic, and developing strong working relationships within the center and community.
Candidates should possess a Master's prepared Nurse Practitioner qualification, preferably with a minimum of 2 years of APN experience. Required credentials include a current California NP license, eligibility for a Controlled Substance License, DEA Registration eligibility, and current BLS certification.
The Nurse Practitioner is a registered professional nurse who has specialized skills, knowledge, and experience in family practice assessments and follow-up and is duly authorized to perform designated acts of medical diagnosis, prescription of medical therapeutics and corrective measures in collaboration with and under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Nurse Practitioner priority role will be as a primary care person in the Urgent Care and Primary Care practices. The coordinating responsibilities include definition of the nurse practitioner role; the supervising of the clinic; and the development and support of close working relationships within the center and community. The Nurse Practitioner reports directly to the Medical Director of clinics and works closely with interdisciplinary leaders in the center and community to carry out the above mentioned responsibilities. In addition, the FPNP will participate in the development and implementation of educational programs as they relate to the health care of the family.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Minimum of 2 years APN experience preferred. 2. Masters prepared Nurse practitioner. 3. Effective communication skills. 4. Current California NP license. 5. Eligible for license by the State Board of Pharmacy - Controlled Substance License. 6. Eligible for Drug Enforcement Administration Registration. 7. BLS (AHA) certification required. 8.
