Assist licensed technologists in performing diagnostic imaging procedures and ensuring radiation safety. Process and evaluate images using PACS while providing direct patient care and collaborating with healthcare teams.
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited radiologic technology program with completion of first-year curriculum and one year of clinical experience. Requires a high school diploma, current BCLS certification, and state exemption documentation for operating X-ray equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Patient Positioning & Preparation: Properly position patients for X-rays and ensure their comfort and safety Performing Imaging Procedures: assist in capturing high-quality diagnostic images under supervision using either X-ray equipment Radiation Safety: follow As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff Equipment Operation & Maintenance: learn to use and maintain radiographic machines and digital imaging systems, such as X-ray machines Image Processing & Evaluation: assist in processing and reviewing images using PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: work alongside radiologists, nurses, and other medical staff to provide quality diagnostic imaging
