The Social Worker is responsible for providing social services in accordance with TJC and Medicare standards. They perform daily reviews of medical records to determine the appropriateness and medical necessity of admissions and continued hospital stays.
Candidates must hold a Master of Social Work or a baccalaureate degree in social work from an accredited institution. A license as a Social Worker (LSW) in Illinois is required within six months of hire.

The Social Worker is responsible for providing Social Services according to TJC (Joint Commission) and Medicare standards in conjunction with Gateway Regional Medical Center policies. The role will function independently after the Case Management sets direction. Including but not limited to daily review of medical records to determine appropriateness and medical necessity of admission, continued hospital stay and use of ancillary services.
• Required: Master of Social Work degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education OR has a baccalaureate degree in social work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
• Prior experience in a health care setting is preferred
• The pay range for this position is $25.71-41.65 per hour.
Pay is determined based on various factors, including education level, years of experience, relevant certifications, and specific skills related to the position. The final compensation package will be discussed with Human Resources to ensure fairness and alignment with the candidate's qualifications.
