Provide direct clinical and support services to patients and families in the Emergency Department under RN supervision. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and maintaining a safe, equipped clinical environment.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and a current BLS certification. Candidates must have at least one year of direct patient care experience or completion of an approved EMT, CNA, PCT, or MA training program.
As a Emergency Department Technician in our Emergency Department (ED), you will be a key member of the healthcare team at BMC. Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, our Emergency Department Technicians provide direct clinical and support services. Using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, you will participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families. You will also work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient, family, and staff needs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients in the ED and their families. Clinical services could include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, assisting with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and emotional support. Perform a variety of environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff in the ED. Contribute to the efficient operation of the ED, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
