Operates computed tomography equipment to produce high-quality images of designated body parts under radiologist direction. Maintains equipment, manages supplies, and applies radiation dose reduction methods for patients of all ages.
Requires a valid Texas Medical Board license, a certificate or diploma from an accredited Radiologic Technology school, and BLS certification. ARRT registration and previous radiology experience are preferred.
The CT Technologist operates computed tomography equipment to produce CT images of designated portions of the body under the direction of a radiologist. Prepares CT equipment and maintains supplies and required documentation. Understands the technical factors and can select the factors that produce consistently high quality images. Demonstrates knowledge of methods used for radiation dose reduction. Works with patients of all ages including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid license required from Texas Medical Board. 2. Certificate or diploma from accredited school of Radiologic Technology required. 3. Current BLS certificate required. 4. Previous radiology experience preferred. 5. CT registered or registry eligible by the ARRT preferred.
