Cura Health is currently hiring a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to join our dedicated healthcare team. The HUC serves as a crucial link between patients, nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring efficient communication and coordination within the unit. This role involves managing administrative tasks to support quality patient care and maintaining smooth operational flow in the healthcare environment.
Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers effectively. Manage communications by answering calls, relaying messages, and responding to inquiries promptly. Maintain accurate patient records and unit logs, ensuring data confidentiality. Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures in collaboration with clinical staff. Order and track medical supplies and maintain inventory levels. Facilitate a positive, organized unit environment that supports clinical functions. High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical or administrative training is preferred. Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or in medical administrative roles is advantageous. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare documentation processes. Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare setting. Computer literacy, including experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible shifts as required by the healthcare unit.
