Position Summary

AICDC is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) to join our Anishinabe Campus team. In this role, you will provide peer support services to individuals accessing our daytime drop-in center, helping clients navigate recovery with dignity, respect, and culturally responsive care.

This position is grounded in motivational interviewing and trauma-informed Care, and focuses on empowering individuals to build stability, access resources, and sustain recovery.

Essential Responsibilities

• Peer Support & Client Engagement
• Build trust and rapport by sharing lived recovery experiences and providing mentorship
• Support clients in developing social, communication, and life skills
• Offer guidance on goal setting, stress management, and personal growth

• Advocacy & Resource Navigation
• Assist clients in overcoming barriers to services
• Help individuals advocate for themselves within systems of care
• Connect clients to housing, employment, education, and community resources

• Group Facilitation & Community Collaboration
• Facilitate peer support and recovery groups
• Partner with community organizations to provide additional programming
• Help develop and maintain a weekly group schedule

• Documentation & Program Support
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, referrals, and services
• Track attendance and participation in group activities
• Document services in required systems (e.g., Procentive)

• Professional Boundaries
• Maintain ethical standards and appropriate professional relationships with clients
• Follow confidentiality and client record policies

• Position requirements
• Age 21+ with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Current Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification
• Minimum of 1 year in recovery from substance use disorder
• Ability to pass a NetStudy 2.0 background check
• Commitment to maintaining personal recovery
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience facilitating groups or leading discussions
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with co-occurring disorders
• Intermediate computer skills for documentation and reporting
