The Patient Care Technician performs basic patient care activities and unit support tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and maintaining a clean and stocked environment.
A high school diploma is preferred, along with certifications such as BCLS and possibly SRNA or EMT. The role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a stressful environment.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs basic patient care activities and unit support tasks to promote safe, efficient care and patient throughput. Provides assistance with activities of daily living and routine monitoring, maintains a clean and stocked environment, and supports nursing/physician staff. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. FLSA: Non-Exempt.

Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, keyboard entry, repetitive movements, kneeling, lifting/moving patients; occasional sitting and squatting; rare running or climbing. Vision near/far and depth perception frequent/constant; color distinction frequent. Occasional exposure to biohazardous waste, chemicals, gases/vapors/fumes; latex exposure frequent.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High School diploma preferred.
SRNA or EMT preferred.
BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
