Friday between 6:30 am - 5:30 pm SUMMARY As an MRI Technologist, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality greatly enhance the overall success of MRI imaging for diagnostic use in patient care in RRH Radiology. Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures. ATTRIBUTES Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience. ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work with various software applications. Excellent customer service and communication skills. RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures in the presence of a strong magnetic field while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety. Educates patients regarding their procedure and maintains a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam.
Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts. Provides on-call coverage for the MRI Section of Radiology. Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the Radiant Care Connect EMR. Cleans, restocks, and prepares rooms on a daily basis. Provides excellent customer service. Verify patient identification and order/requisition; utilizing clinical indications to assess the appropriateness of procedure and consulting with the provider/radiologist for order verification, as needed. Administers IV contrast media (they must also be competency assessed on orientation and/or annually). Trained in PACS software and transfers imaging data for archiving and post-data processing. Follows direct orders from the radiologist or referring provider for MRI imaging and contrast administration via protocol. Receives verbal orders and documents appropriately in the EMR. Collaborates with all modalities for mutual patient flow. Performs transport duties as needed. Monitor patient status; notify nurse/physician in changes of patient condition. Appropriately maintains all MRI and accessory equipment. All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.
