The Oncology RVT is responsible for administering chemotherapy treatments and providing supportive nursing care to cancer patients. They also handle diagnostics, maintain medical logs, and educate clients on treatment plans.
Candidates must hold an active California RVT license and have 1-2 years of veterinary technician experience. A strong interest or background in oncology and chemotherapy safety is preferred.
Oncology Registered Veterinary Technician As an Oncology RVT, you’ll play a key role in patient care and client support throughout cancer treatment. Key Responsibilities Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments following safety protocols Monitor vitals and provide supportive oncology nursing care Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and sample collection Assist with diagnostics including X‑ray, CT, and MRI Educate clients on treatment plans and home care Prepare patients for procedures and monitor recovery Maintain accurate medical records and chemotherapy logs Follow hazardous drug handling and infection control protocols Collaborate closely with veterinarians and specialty teams
Active California RVT license 1–2 years of veterinary technician experience (oncology or specialty preferred) Strong technical, communication, and teamwork skills Interest or experience in veterinary oncology and chemotherapy safety Schedule & Pay Full‑time | Four 10‑hour shifts Tuesday–Thursday + one floating day $26–$35/hour, based on experience
