Assists the nursing team in providing patient care in in-patient and out-patient areas, including obtaining vital signs and performing basic diagnostic procedures. Responsible for patient hygiene, comfort, transport, and maintaining the cleanliness and supply of the unit.
Candidates must be able to read, write, and follow instructions while maintaining patient confidentiality. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of medical terminology, sanitation principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare staff and patients.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally, electronically, and in writing with patients, family members and health care staff. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Ability to provide care with regard to patient condition and age. Knowledge of principles of sanitation and health hazards. Ability to maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of medical terminology, instruments and supplies. Ability to collect patient data and maintain accurate records. Knowledge of keyboarding and computer data entry skills.
