Laboratory Technician II - Surgical Pathology

The Department of Pathology is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to

• under general supervision, performs difficult technical procedures and allied duties related to the function of a service laboratory; maintains laboratory area and equipment. Performs a variety of laboratory tasks related to processing specimens, computer/clerical duties, routine lab maintenance, and supply distribution. This position will be Monday – Friday, 0930-1830.
• Duties to include: · Accessions, handles, and triages specimens for Surgical Pathology. · Uses laboratory equipment. · Demonstrates effective communication skills. · Follows department and laboratory policies. · Prepares reagents and chemicals. · Performs other projects and tasks as assigned. • Minimum Eligibility Requirements · High school plus two years of related laboratory experience, including one year as a Laboratory Technician I or equivalent level experience, or · Certified laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification, or · Any combination of related post high school education and experience which totals two years.
